About Us
The Atlantic Region
is one of eight cricket regions that comprise the United States of
America Cricket Association (USACA). USACA is an associate member of
the International Cricket Council (ICC), and is a Not for Profit
organization registered as tax exempt with the Internal Revenue
Service (IRS). The Atlantic Region Cricket Board (ARCB) is the
centralized administrative body responsible for the administration
of cricket in Atlantic Region. The Region includes cricket leagues
and their member clubs in a geographic area from the Virginias to
New Jersey. The chairman of the board is the Regional Director who
is elected bi-annually by member clubs of the region, each league is
represented on the board.
There is an effective communications process in
the region via audio conferences, newsletters and the ARCB website
and all officials and players are encouraged to utilize the
processes to provide information about their cricket activities at
the club, league and regional level. The ARCB website is also used
as the medium for reporting statistics and is the basis for
registering players who participate in competitions in Atlantic
Region.
The region administers an annual inter-league
tournament among seven leagues, additionally the region administers
U/15 and U/19 tournaments. The Atlantic Region participates in the
annual national U/15, U/19 and senior tournaments while developing
an U13 squad. This format provides a platform for players to
showcase their talents and become eligible for selection on the
regional and USA National Teams. The annual National Tournaments are
the showcase events for the region and USACA.
The formula for success is planning,
implementation and innovative leadership. Working in concert with
club and league executive, the ARCB’S role is to formulate a
systemic approach and a cohesive structure to facilitate the
promotion and development of cricket within the Atlantic Region.
Youth development is a priority; and this is being accomplished
through community involvement, coaching clinics, education and
competitions. Other forums such as coaching and umpire seminars are
also used to improve the overall standard of the game. The Atlantic
Region is a process driven and team oriented region dedicated to
improving the administration and quality of cricket in the region.
